dLocal Expands in APAC
Hey FinTech Fanatic!
dLocal and Damisa have announced a strategic partnership to expand cross-border settlement across APAC.
The partnership connects Damisa to dLocal's established local payment rails across the region through a single integration, giving their merchant base immediate access to local bank transfers across key markets with no additional technical work required.
And what a place they chose to make this announcement.
The news broke out at what is considered the biggest FinTech event in the region (4,000+ decision-makers), Money 20/20 Asia in Bangkok.
The move shouldn’t come out as a surprise, as dLocal put out a formal press release in May of last year announcing commercial launches in Malaysia, the Philippines, and Vietnam, explicitly framing Southeast Asia as a priority corridor for merchants.
Partnering with Damisa aligns with the strategic vision.
"Cross-border settlement in APAC can be complex. Fragmented rails, local compliance requirements, in-country operational demands,” said Richard Healy, Commercial VP (APAC) at dLocal.
As APAC’s cross‑border payments boom accelerates, dLocal’s latest move with Damisa shows that building core infrastructure for the next wave of global commerce is key to keeping up with merchants’ expectations.
