Uzum is considering a $300 million Eurobond in 2026 and planning for an IPO as soon as 2027, with Hong Kong, Abu Dhabi, and Nasdaq under consideration.

The Uzbek FinTech is looking to grow beyond its home market. As co-founder Nikolay Seleznev said, “The volumes on the Tashkent Stock Exchange still do not match the country’s ambitions. That is why we are also looking at other sources for the time being.”

🇺🇸 US FinTech firm Lendbuzz prepares for Nasdaq IPO. The Boston-based FinTech that provides auto loans to consumers with limited credit history is preparing for a Nasdaq IPO. The company has signed with several underwriters and is expected to submit its prospectus soon, with the IPO potentially valuing Lendbuzz between US$1 billion and US$1.5 billion.

🇮🇳 Groww secures SEBI nod for IPO. The estimated IPO size is in the range of $800 million to $1 billion. The development comes months after Groww’s parent entity raised Rs 1,735 crore (~$200 million) in June from Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC and existing backer ICONIQ Capital.

🇲🇽 Mexico's Trafalgar secures $50m debt facility. The facility will be used to fuel its AI-powered lending proposition for SMEs in Mexico, which will launch in tandem with Trafalgar's rollout into general availability, expected by the end of September, pending regulatory approval.

🇵🇪 Western Union allows customers to carry out international operations and exchange dollars through WhatsApp Business in Peru. Through this tool, users will be able to send money to more than 200 countries and territories, as well as buy or sell dollars, all from the comfort of their cell phone.

🇪🇸 Caixabank enables Apple Pay installment payments in Spain. Users can select their eligible credit card and then tap Pay Later to view their available installment plans. They can then select the installment plan of their choice, ranging from two to 12 months, depending on their card conditions, and complete the checkout process through Apple Pay.

🇧🇷 Brazilian FinTechs will have to adopt bank reporting standards. Under the new rule, FinTechs will be obligated to submit the e-Financeira, a set of data files that includes detailed information on customer registration, transactions, balances, investments, and other financial records, used for monitoring and risk assessment purposes.

🇺🇿 Tencent-Backed Uzbek FinTech Unicorn Uzum eyes Eurobond and IPO. Uzum is considering ways to raise more funds as soon as next year, as local businesses increasingly look to international markets for capital. It is also looking to tap international bond markets with a $300 million debut sale as soon as in the first half of 2026.

🇱🇺 Clearstream Banking to launch Collateral Benchmarking. Through analysis of transaction volumes, asset allocation, repo rates, and other key metrics, the tool enables users to identify trends, uncover opportunities, and align their strategies with market standards

🇦🇺 ANZ CEO Nuno Matos Apologises to staff over job losses email mistake. A spokesperson for the Melbourne-based firm confirmed the contents of the memo. Matos said the bank is investigating the cause of the issue to make sure it won’t happen again.

🇰🇷 South Korea prosecutors seek 15-year jail term for Kakao founder Kim. Kim was arrested on accusations of stock manipulation during the acquisition of a K-pop agency, then released on bail in 2024. He has denied the allegations, saying he never ordered or tolerated any illegal activity, the company said previously.

🇦🇲 Ameriabank presents the First Digital Business Cards in Armenia. Digital business cards become available once ordered and activated, without waiting for a physical card to be issued; they reduce the use of plastic and are backed by modern digital security features.

🇪🇺 Swedish challenger bank Northmill targets EU expansion. Northmill is targeting expansion across the EU, as the Swedish challenger bank reports quarterly pre-tax profits of 56 million kronor (€5.1m). The retail and business bank currently operates across the Nordic markets of Sweden, Norway, and Finland.

🌏 Ant International completes real-time FX blockchain settlement in Asia through Kinexys by J.P. Morgan. The solution provides businesses with uninterrupted access to liquidity across selected global currencies, including USD, EUR, and GBP, enabling them to conduct transactions outside of designated market hours and beyond the limitations of traditional market cutoff times.
