Incognia Brings AI Agent Detection to Financial Institutions
Hey FinTech Fanatic!
AI agents are starting to do more than answer questions. They’re beginning to make purchases, change accounts and act on behalf of customers.
That creates a pretty big problem for financial institutions: how do you know an AI agent is legitimate, and that the action it’s taking is actually authorised by the customer?
That’s what Incognia is tackling with its new AI Agent Detection. CEO André Ferraz puts it simply: knowing that a request came from a legitimate agent isn’t the same as knowing that a specific action should be allowed.
Incognia is also launching Web Behavioral Biometrics and an MCP Server for AI-assisted fraud investigations, with human oversight still in place for enforcement decisions.
And this is becoming a broader industry conversation. Meta and Sierra are developing the Personal Agent Protocol with companies including Shopify, Stripe, Walmart and Genesys, an open standard for how personal AI agents authenticate, interact with businesses and act on behalf of consumers.
So the next challenge for FinTech may not simply be building AI agents. It may be figuring out how those agents should be trusted, authorised and governed once they start acting on our behalf.
That’s just one story from today’s FinTech news.
There’s plenty more below, so let’s get into it.
See you tomorrow!
Cheers,
